Carousel (An exploration of Color & Movement)

Artist Statement: Everyone remembers their first ride. Whether in a car or other vehicles these forgotten memories from when we were young children have shaped us into who we are today. Carousel attempts to bring us back into that mindset by simplifying what we see into basic elements (in this case color and movement) The piece takes actual ride footage and abstracts it into simple color blocks. These blocks along with the audio to create a whimsical atmosphere much like we could have felt when we were small children.

CAROUSEL was presented as part of the 2021 Digital Graffiti Festival. Digital Graffiti is a one-of-a-kind projection art festival where artists use the latest digital technologies to project their original works onto the iconic white walls of Alys Beach Florida. The event lasted from May 12-15 2021.
