Artist Statement: This piece started as a timelapse of a digital pencil sketch, where the artist’s touch is visible in every line—direct, intentional, and mine. From there, I wanted to break that. I stripped away the hand of the artist, pushing the work toward something more artificial, less human. The process became mechanical. Control slipped, expression faded, and the sketch began to feel distant, almost unrecognizable. It exists in this in-between space—familiar, yet off. Not fully human, not fully machine. I’m drawn to that tension: taking something born from touch and letting it evolve into something that feels autonomous, something that lives beyond me.
